The 2025 General Election will be a four-way race between the incumbent Rev. Emily Gail Dill [PLP], Carl Neblett [OBA], Shalleya Codrington [FDM], and Cire Bean [Independent].
Since the one seat system started in 2003, the PLP have won the seat in all 5 General Elections, This seat was closely watched in the 2020 Election, as it was a three way race involving FDM Leader Marc Bean, however the PLP’s Kathy Lynn Simmons — who replaced the former PLP MP Michael Scott — was victorious at the polls.
2024 Update | The PLP’s Kathy Lightbourne-Simmons resigned, triggering a by-election [Bernews coverage here], which was won by the PLP’s Rev. Dr. Emily Gail Dill with 162 votes, the FDM’s Marc Bean was second with 108 votes, Independent Cire Bean was 3rd with 95 and the OBA’s Carl Neblett was 4th with 91.
