Widely regarded as a ‘PLP safe seat,’ the PLP has won the seat with over 72% of the vote since the one seat system started in 2003, with all five of those elections won by the PLP’s Derrick Burgess. In the 2020 General Election, this area saw a three way race with the PLP, OBA and FDM all fielding a candidate.
