The 2025 General Election saw a three-way race, with the incumbent Vance Campbell [OBA] winning the seat with 400 votes [50.96%], the PLP’s Shomari Talbot-Woolridge second with 303 votes [38.60%] while independent Dwight Jackson was third with 82 votes [10.45%].
Since the one seat system started in 2003, the OBA or UBP won the seat in 5 General Elections, and the PLP have won it once, however the PLP MP subsequently crossed the floor to the OBA.
In early August 2020, Trevor Moniz — who had won the seat in the four previous General Elections – announced that he was retiring, which would have caused a by-election, however a General Election was called. In the 2020 General Election, this was one of 5 seats that changed from the OBA to PLP, with the PLP’s Vance Campbell earning a victory at the polls, however in August 2024, Mr Campbell resigned from the PLP and joined the OBA.
